Ocean and Reef Stewardship

Stewards of the Oceans and Reefs

Kohala Divers is passionate about ocean conservation and is committed to protecting our oceans and reefs.

How do we support the environment?

We are a PADI Green Star Dive Center!

This award is reserved for dive centers that show proof of eco friendly and sustainable practices and acknowledgment of our commitment to conservation of the aquatic environment!

We are a PADI 100% AWARE Dive Center

We donate a portion of the proceeds for every diver we certify to Project AWARE to help remove debris from our oceans. When you choose Kohala Divers to get your dive certification, know that you are helping to preserve the oceans. Every diver we certify receives a PADI AWARE certification card.

We are Partners with Ocean Defenders Alliance

Partnering with Ocean Defenders Alliance, we are aiming for a debris free sea. We plan quarterly boat cleanups to remove floating debris, fishing line and ghost fishing gear from the reef. For more information about our partner, visit: Ocean Defenders Alliance.

How To Get involved

We’d love to have you join us in our mission of keeping the oceans litter free. Kohala Divers sponsors a free non-profit club Kohala Coast Dive Club. Members of our dive club are invited to participate in our cleanup events. We arrange beach and underwater cleanups. Everyone is welcome to join... divers, snorkelers, and shore support volunteers are always helpful in our team effort.
